We promote knowledge and understanding of the capital market, finance and investment through seminars and knowledge-sharing events with government agencies, businesses and other stakeholders, to help build the capabilities of businesses and the capital market in the Lao PDR.
The Lao Securities Exchange (LSX) held a seminar titled “Stock Investment and Valuation”. APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd. was honoured to take part, with Mr. Suriya Thamtera, First Vice President of the IB Department, as a speaker. The event was lively, with participants from many sectors.
The Lao Securities Commission Office (LSCO), together with the Lao Securities Exchange and APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd. (APMLAO), held a seminar on “Preparing to Raise Capital through the Capital Market and List on the Stock Exchange”, chaired by Mr. Souksamai Chanthamath, Vice Governor of Attapeu Province in charge of economic affairs. Attending were Mr. Vanhkham Voravong, CEO of the Lao Securities Exchange; Mr. Soulisack Thamnuvong, Deputy Head of the Lao Securities Commission Office; and Mr. Somphob Sakpunpanom, CEO of APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd. More than 80 people attended.
The Lao Securities Commission Office, together with the Lao Securities Exchange and APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd., held a seminar on “Preparing to Raise Capital through the Capital Market and List on the Stock Exchange”. It was opened by Dr. Phengphavanh Daokhonchaleun, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Governor of Luang Namtha Province in charge of economic affairs. Attending were Mr. Vanhkham Voravong, CEO of the Lao Securities Exchange, and Mr. Somphob Sakpunpanom, CEO of APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd., who was also a speaker. More than 60 participants came from provincial departments, state and private commercial banks and businesses.
APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd., together with the Bank of the Lao PDR, the Lao Securities Commission Office and the Lao Securities Exchange, held a seminar on “Preparing to Raise Capital through the Capital Market and List on the Lao Securities Exchange” to build public understanding of the capital market. It was chaired by Mr. Bounseng Thammavong, Vice Governor of Bolikhamxay Province in charge of economic affairs. Attending were Mr. Vanhkham Voravong, CEO of the Lao Securities Exchange; Mr. Somphob Sakpunpanom, Director of APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd. (also a speaker); and officials from the Lao Securities Commission Office and the Lao Securities Exchange. Around 60 government officials, private-sector staff and business people attended.
The company and Chiang Mai University jointly held the 3rd “IFRS For Banking Business” seminar on 9–10 July 2015 (the final session of the course) at the Landmark Hotel. The course covered International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) accounting standards for banks and was taught by experienced lecturers from Chiang Mai University.
On 15 June 2015 the company also held a seminar with the Post Today and Bangkok Post newspapers titled “Laos: A Chance to Leap Forward”, where experienced speakers from Thailand and Laos exchanged views. Around 300 participants from the public and private sectors attended.
The company and Chiang Mai University jointly held the 2nd “IFRS For Banking Business” seminar on 5–6 June 2015 at the Landmark Hotel. The course covered International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) accounting standards for banks and was taught by experienced lecturers from Chiang Mai University.
APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd. (APMLAO), together with the Faculty of Business Administration, Chiang Mai University, held a short training course on “IFRS FOR BANKING BUSINESS”. It was opened by Assoc. Prof. Dej-Phuwang Moonrat, former Chairman and CEO of the Lao Securities Exchange, with Mr. Somphob Sakpunpanom, Director of APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd. (APMLAO), explaining the purpose of the training. More than 40 participants came from the public and private sectors, including the Commercial Bank Supervision Department, the Financial Institutions Supervision Department, the Lao Securities Commission Office, the Lao Securities Exchange, and state and private commercial banks.
The Lao Securities Commission Office, the Lao Securities Exchange and APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd. jointly held a seminar on “Preparing to Raise Capital and List on the Stock Exchange”, opened by Mr. Khamphaeng Chittavong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Governor of Oudomxay Province. Participants included representatives of the provincial office and of the Bank of the Lao PDR northern branch in Oudomxay, provincial departments and organisations, commercial banks, business associations, large businesses and teachers from educational institutions around Oudomxay Province.

(APMLAO), together with the Lao Securities Commission Office and the Lao Securities Exchange, held a seminar on “Preparing to Raise Capital through the Capital Market and List on the Stock Exchange”, opened by Mr. Nhanyong Siprasert, Vice Governor of Xayaboury Province. More than 50 participants from the public and private sectors attended.

Attending were Mr. Somphob Sakpunpanom, Director of APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd., who was also a speaker; Mr. Chanthone Sitthixay, Chairman and CEO of Petroleum Trading Lao Public Company; representatives of the Lao Securities Commission Office and the Lao Securities Exchange; and invited guests from public and private organisations. More than 70 people attended.
APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd., together with Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Nomura Pattanasin Securities Public Company Limited, held a seminar on “The Lao Capital Market and the Omnibus Account System”, opened by Mrs. Saysamone Chanthalack, Deputy Head of the Lao Securities Commission Office. The seminar explained share trading through an omnibus account, a system that makes it faster and easier for foreign investors to trade shares in the Lao capital market and so increases trading value. It also shared new knowledge with Lao investors, to help the Lao capital market grow and meet rising demand from foreign investors.
APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd., together with the Bank of the Lao PDR, held a seminar on “Cooperative Accounting Standards” to build understanding of accounting standards and correct bookkeeping. It was chaired by Dr. Akhom Praseuth, Director General of the Financial Institutions Supervision Department, Bank of the Lao PDR, and attended by Mrs. Suda Peetawan, Deputy Director of APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd., members of the National Assembly, representatives of provincial departments and many public organisations: more than 50 people in total. The lecturer was Dr. Attapong Peeracheir, who has taught accounting for more than 10 years at Chiang Mai University (Thailand).
The Bank of the Lao PDR, the Lao Securities Commission Office, the Lao Securities Exchange and APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd. jointly held a seminar on “Preparing to Raise Capital through the Capital Market and List on the Stock Exchange” to build public understanding of the capital market. It was chaired by Mr. Somsanith Buttivong, member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Governor of Champasak Province. Attending were Mr. Na Chantalivong, Head of the Bank of the Lao PDR in Champasak Province; Mr. Somphob Sakpunpanom, Director of APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd., who was also a speaker; officials from the Lao Securities Commission Office and the Lao Securities Exchange; members of the National Assembly; and representatives of provincial departments, universities, colleges, commercial banks, the public and private sectors and business people: about 88 people in total.

It was chaired by Mr. Sida Thammavong, Deputy Head of the Bank of the Lao PDR northern branch in Luang Prabang Province. Attending were Mr. TaeJoo Choi, Deputy Chairman and Head of Operations of the Lao Securities Exchange; Mr. Somphob Sakpunpanom, Director of APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd., who was also a speaker; members of the National Assembly for Constituency 6, Luang Prabang Province; and representatives of provincial departments, universities, colleges, commercial banks, the public and private sectors and business people: nearly 100 people in total.

(APMLAO), together with the Bank of the Lao PDR, held a seminar on “Leasing Company Accounting”, chaired by Dr. Akhom Praseuth, Director General of the Financial Institutions Supervision Department, Bank of the Lao PDR. Mr. Somphob Sakpunpanom, Director of APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd., co-chaired the opening and explained the purpose of the event. More than 30 staff attended.
The seminar “How Bonds Can Help Businesses Grow” was organised in cooperation with the Lao Securities Commission Office, the Lao Securities Exchange, TRIS Corporation Limited & TRIS Rating Co., Ltd. and APMLAO on 19 February 2014. More than 200 people from companies and the interested public attended.
APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd. (APMLAO), together with the Bank of the Lao PDR, held a seminar on “Accounting for Credit and Savings Cooperatives” on 22 January 2014 at the Bank of the Lao PDR. It was chaired by Dr. Akhom Praseuth, Director General of the Financial Institutions Supervision Department, Bank of the Lao PDR, with Mr. Somphob Sakpunpanom, CEO of APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd., co-chairing the opening. More than 50 participants from financial institutions attended.
APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd. (APMLAO) and the Lao Securities Exchange (LSX) co-hosted a seminar titled “Preparing to List on the Lao Securities Exchange” on 16 December 2013, opened by Assoc. Prof. Dej-Phuwang Moonrat, Chairman and CEO of the Lao Securities Exchange. The two speakers were Mr. Somphob Sakpunpanom, CEO of APM (LAO) Securities Co., Ltd., and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montree Socatiyanurak, Director of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) programme at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA). More than 100 representatives from many sectors attended.
